Cinemas are used to enter information about the cinemas in a theatre complex. Once the information has been entered, it should rarely need to change.

 

To create a new entry, press [New] and enter details in the appropriate fields. To change the details of an existing entry, select the entry from the list and press [Edit]. Change the details and press [Save], or [Undo] to cancel any changes.

 

To delete a cinema, select the item from the list and press [Delete]

Cinema #

The number of the cinema. Range 1 to 30000.

 

Cinema ID

The text to be displayed and printed on tickets.

 

Cinema Name

The name of the cinema that will appears on the ticket.

 

Capacity

The maximum number of seats in the cinema. This number limits the amount of tickets that can be sold for a particular session. To have unlimited admissions set this value to -1.

Note:

       This capacity will be overridden if a seating layout has a capacity of more than zero and has been allocated to a session.

 

Low seat warning

This is the number of seats left for a session before the users will be warned. This prevents attempts at over-selling a session.

 

Sound

The type of sound equipment that is installed in the cinema

 

Cinema Type

Determines if this cinema will be a lounge cinema. This affects the way some reports are formatted.

 

Theatre Mode

Determines if this cinema will behave as a theatre. This affects the way some reservation and seating functions work. This will display the seat numbers when reserving seats.

Note:

If Theatre Mode is turned on then uncollected reservations will not automatically be cleared based on the Reserve Interval Time and will therefore need to be manually released.

 

Initial Remote Seats

The initial number of seats that will be reserved for remote sales by external selling agents. This number will depend upon the type of external selling agent. This quantity must not exceed the Maximum Remote Seats.

At present only one type is currently supported where the Initial Remote Seats and Maximum Remote Seats are the same with no request for more allocations.

Future versions of Showcase will incorporate real-time ticket selling by external agents where tickets will be allocated on a first come basis.

 

Request Allocation Size

The number of seats that will be allocated when a external selling agent requests more tickets for sale.

 

Maximum Remote Seats

The maximum number of seats that will be reserved for external selling agents until the predefined automatic release time. This amount must not be less than the Initial Remote Seats quantity.
