Head Office

These procedures are used when transferring data between each site and head office. All data created since the last interchange file was imported from head office will be included in the export. This could be daily, weekly, etc..., however as the exported data is created in real-time only data transferred when sales are not occuring should be considered consistent when transferred to head office. All exports at each site are manually initiated by a user.

Terms:

Interchange File - this is the encrypted file format used when transfering data between head office and the sites. Files exported by sites have a file extension of BOZ and files created by head office and imported by sites have a file extension of HOZ.

Head Office Client - software used to maintain operations at head office.

Head Office Gateway Service - a windows service application running on designated computers at head office. This does not need to be the database server. If using the internet for cinema interaction then port # 9000 must be redirected to this computer.

Cinema Client - software used to maintain all operations for cinema.

Cinema Gateway Service - a windows service application running on one designated computer at each site. This does not need to be the database server. If using the internet for head office interaction then port # 9000 must be redirected to this computer.
