This will import a data interchange file (*.HOZ) that was created by head office. Some further processing may be required depending upon the method of transfer from head office.
There are basic methods to transfer data from head office are: 1. Manual File transfer (no connection) The interchange file was created and manually sent to the site where it is manually imported. This could be via disk, email, ftp, etc ...
2. File Transfer (persistent connection) The interchange file is created and automatically sent to a designated folder. The folder could be located on a shared location at head office or at each site. The file must be manually imported from this folder. It is the site's responsiblity to check the folder for any updates. This method requires that some form of WAN/LAN connection is available between the site and head office.
3. Automated Cinema Gateway (persistent connection) The interchange file is automatically imported from head office, this is initiated from head office. No additional processing is required by each site. This method requires that a TCP/IP connection is available at the site and head office. This can be a WAN, LAN, or internet connection.
