Receipt Formats These are the common settings used for each receipt format. The Format # are unique to each terminal, however the actual ticket designs are common to all terminals.
Printing On/Off To enable ticket and receipt printing the option must be Printing ON. If this option is off the NO MEMBER REWARDS will be allocated. This option should be OFF on all Non-Point of Sale terminals.
No Stub Abbreviations (Windows driver Only) Select this option to prevent the ticket type text form being shortened when printing tickets.
Receipt on at Startup Select this option to always start with the candy bar receipt option when unless turned off.
Printer Drivers There are three basic types of drivers supplied. These are:
These have fixed formats which can not be changed. Formats 1 - 4 are fixed and 5 - 10 are not available. Includes standard receipt printers connected directly to LPTx and not using the windows driver. ie. citizen 231/100, Star TSP700/800, and generic line printers. Barcodes (except on Citizen 231/1000) and images are not supported.
These have formats that can be changed. Formats 1 - 2 are fixed and 3 - 10 are customisable. Fields styles and positions can be changed. Includes practical, boca and sebal printers connected directly to LPTx and not using the windows driver. Barcodes are supported.

The internal drivers will always print tickets/receipts faster but have a limited number of fixed formats and/or fonts and styles. The windows drivers have greater flexiblity with fonts and styles, but are slower to print.
Serial Printer Settings When printing directly to COMxxx ports on windows XP/2000/2003 it is required that any printer drivers installed by windows are removed as these will prevent our internal drivers from working correctly.
Baud Rate The baud rate for ALL serial printers (if required, usually 9600). It is assumed that all serial printers are using the same baud rate regardless of the COM port assigned.
Serial Printer Delay (ms) The delay required when printing multiple tickets/receipts using serial printers. This is required to prevent loss of information especially when a ticket cut is required. Symptoms usually include ticket text running together and the printer cut not being done.
Cash Drawer These are the cash drawer settings used when using electronic cash drawers.
Connection Type The location where the cash drawer will be plugged into. Set to Not Connected when there are no cash drawers attached.
COM Port The Com Port for the cash drawer (if required)
Baud Rate The baud rate for the cash drawer (if required, usually 9600)
Pulse 1 The pulse frequency required to open the cash drawer. This should be at least 4 times the Pulse 2 setting (usually 6).
Pulse 2 The second pulse frequency required to open the cash drawer. This should be at least 4 times less than the Pulse 1 setting (usually 1).
Paper Margins
These are the paper margins used when printing reports using the Report Printer Driver Printer.
Left, Right, Top and Bottom Margins The margins used when printing all reports.
Font Size (Default: 8) The font size used on all reports.
Shading Intensity (Default: 10) The shading to use when printing certain reports.
These are the paper margins used for Bulk Vouchers when printing to non-ticket printers.
These are the paper margins used when printing receipts and/or using the Windows Driver Printer.
These are the paper margins used when printing cards for members.
Left, Right, Top and Bottom Margins The margins of the paper. These values should generally be higher on ink-jet printers when compared to lasers printers. Normally between 10 and 30.
Height and Width The height and width of the tickets/receipts being printed.
Voucher Height and Voucher Width The height and width of the vouchers to be printed.
Orientation The orientation of the paper. This is normally Portrait.
Generic Line Printer Settings These settings are used for fixed line receipt printers. There are three basic receipt printer types that affect the presentation of the fixed ticket formats available:
Ticket Stub Orientation The position to place the ticket stub. This only applies to certain ticket formats for the Citizen 231/1000 printers.
Delay when printing Multiple Tickets (Default: 150) This is an artificial delay that is required on some slower printers with small print buffers to allow time for each receipt to be printed when printing multiple receipts.
Narrow Width This is normally 68 columns.
Normal Width This is normally 80 columns.
Wide Width This is normally 132 columns.
Narrow Tab Position The tab position where the ticket stub printing starts. Normally 25 columns.
Normal Tab Position The tab position where the ticket stub printing starts. Normally 28 columns.
Wide Tab Position The tab position where the ticket stub printing starts. Normally 68 columns.
Epson LF The number of blank lines to print at the end of each receipt for Epson compatible printers so that the cutter is placed correctly for the next receipt. This prevents the text from being cut in-two due to the waste on line printers.
Star LF The number of blank lines to print at the end of each receipt for Star compatible printers so that the cutter is placed correctly for the next receipt. This prevents the text from being cut in-two due to the waste on line printers.
Wide Char Width (Default: 2) The number of columns required to print a wide characater.
ShowPOS Templates These determine the colour shading when printing the templates used on external candy bar terminals as the keyboard layouts.
Print in Colour Print the templates in colour, otherwise use Report Shading Intensity.
Colour Intensity (Default: 30) The colour shading intensity to use when printing templates.
