Top  Previous  Next

Marketing Groups allow the marketing codes collected at the time of sale to be grouped together under a common name. i.e allow marketing codes 2000 .. 2999 are from New South Wales, 3000 ... 3999 are from Victoria, etc..

These Marketing Groups can be changed at any time to reflect the current circumstances.

To create a new entry, press [New] and enter details in the appropriate fields. If the Head Office module has been activated then a list of predefined entries will appear to select from. To change the details of an existing entry, select the item from the list and press [Edit]. Change the details and press [Save], or [Undo] to cancel any changes.

To remove an item, select the item from the list and press [Delete].

Name

A descriptive name of the marketing codes that will be grouped together for reporting purposes.

HO Code

A code which identifies this item when used with the Head Office Module. This can be left blank, otherwise it must be a unique code which is predefined by Head Office.

Start Code

The starting code that will be grouped together. The is an alphanumeric item and as such preceding 0's will affect the way these items are grouped. i.e. 0000 is not the same as 00000

Any marketing code that does not match one of the pre-existing Start Codes will be grouped under the N/A default Marketing Group.

Notes:

The items are sorted based on the Start Code of each group, so if there are any overlapping sequences, then the first group to match marketing code will be used when reporting.

for example

if the following groups have defined:

Group One 1000 - 10000
Group Two 2000 - 2999
Group Three 3000 - 3999
Group Four 10001 - 19999

and a marketing code of 3100 was entered, then the item would be placed in Group Three when reporting as it is the closest based on the Start Code.

End Code

The ending code that will be grouped together.  This should preferably not overlap the next Start Code.
