They need to make sure that the following are selected in \\BackOffice\Setup\Options\Site Options\Members:
 | Member Rewards, |
 | Ticket Rewards Points and/or Product Rewards Points (if allocating points) |
 | Show Member Reward (if allocating points) |

They then need to SIGN OFF Showcase COMPLETELY before these changes will take effect.
To TEST THE CARDSWIPE IS WORKING:
 | Exit Showcase |
 | SELECT START |
 | SELECT RUN |
 | type COMMAND (or Windows 95/98/me) or CMD (on Windows 2000/XP) and press ENTER |
 | The DOS Prompt window should then be displayed |
 | They need to swipe a card, they should then see something similar to below where the data on the card is their member card number i.e. ;00505? |

 | If they don't get any response then there is a hardware problem |
 | If they do get a response they need to verify that the member card number actually exists in Showcase. I.e. Card # field |
 | NOTE: THE FIRST MEMBER WITH A MATCHING CARD NUMBER WILL BE SELECTED FIRST;00505? |
