This error will occur when one of the data files have been corrupted in some form.
The most common form of corruption involves the data file's index being corrupted.
The four data files which are most commonly corrupted are:
POSITEM
POSTRAN
TICKETS
TRANSACTIONS
The files can be fixed by following these steps:
sign off ALL PC based terminals
on one terminal
perform partial repair steps
perform verification steps
if partial repair DOES NOT WORK, then attempt the full repair steps.
if the above DOES NOT WORK, the call Showcase Support
Partial Repair Steps
select SUPPORT
for each of the data files above
- select the data file from them selected table list
- select REPAIR SELECTED TABLE
- press GO
- a message will be displayed in the bottom left corner showing the status of the repair.
press EXIT
Verification Steps
sign on to showcase
sell one ticket making sure that the number of tickets sold increases
refund the same ticket making sure that the number of tickets sold decreases
if the above steps FIXES THE PROBLEM then selling can recommence
if the above DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM then more drastic steps need to be taken.
Full Repair Steps
This next step can take considerable time to do and should only be considered as a last resort
select SUPPORT
select REPAIR ALL TABLES
press GO
a message will be displayed in the bottom left corner showing the status of the repair.
press EXIT
