Overlapping Sessions

Top  Previous  Next

Sessions can only be overwritten if no sales have been made against the session, and that includes sessions that have all the tickets refunded.

Overwriting Sessions

Overwriting a session will delete the overwritten session from the schedule.

Overlapping Sessions

It is possible to overlap a session and to have multiple sessions scheduled at the same time in the same cinema. The reason for this is that a session may have been incorrectly programmed with an incorrect film name, tickets were then sold by the users before the problem was discovered, and then the tickets were refunded. Because showcase does not allow you to remove any session that has had any sales, it then becomes necessary to disable the incorrect session preventing any further sales and then programme the new session overlapping the existing disabled session.

To determine if this has occurred press [View Day], check if there are any sessions that have the same starting time as another session or that is completely overlapped by another session i.e. start time and finish time are within another sessions screening times e.g. Session 1 starts at 10:05am and finishes at 11:45am, session 2 starts at 10:00 and finishes at 11:55am, this results in only one of these sessions being available to the user via ticket issue screen, but they will be both visible via the film issue screen.
