Products

A product is something which may be sold, they may consist of single or multiple stock items or have no recipe attached.

To create a new entry, press [New] and enter the details in the appropriate fields. If the Head Office module has been activated then a list of pre-defined entries will appear to select from. To change the details of an existing entry, select the item from the list and press [Edit]. Change the details and press [Save], or [Undo] to cancel any changes.

To delete a product, select the item from the list and press [Delete].

Product #

Unique number used to identify each Product. This number is generated automatically and should not be changed unless requested by customer support.

Name

A descriptive name for the Product. Each product should be named based on the following guidelines if your location uses the ShowPOS terminals:

HO Code

If Head Office is activated then a unique code assigned by Head Office, otherwise leave blank.

Category

The category to which this product will be assigned for reporting purposes.

Barcode

Barcode for product when a scanner is used to select products

Sale Price

Price that the product will be sold for.

Total Sold

Total number of sales for this product since it was created. Products that have had any sales can not have their Patron Price changed.

Cost Price

Cost Price of the product that will be sold.

Loyalty Rate %

The percentage amount of this item's patron price that will allocated as a member bonus points when sold to a member.

Sell by kg

This determines if a product will be sold by weight. This generally includes bulk lollies. It should be left unchecked for all other products. This allows an item to sold in fractional quantities based on the patron price one whole unit. e.g. 0.125 grams.

Ingredient

Determines if this product can be used as an ingredient for an Open Product. ie. user-defined products/recipes at time of sale.

No Recipe

Determines if a recipe must be attached to this product before it can be included on the candy bar layouts. Any products without a recipe will have a [X] thru the product if this option is not selected.

PC Only

Restricts the sale of this item to PC based terminals only

Tax

If a goods and services tax applies, check the % for a percentage to apply, leave unchecked for a flat tax to be applied in which case type in the actual amount of tax that will apply i.e. 0.564 cents.

Tax Payable

This is the amount of Tax that will apply depending upon the Tax above. (Read only)

Patron Price

This is the price a patron pays for the product. It is calculated by adding the Price plus the Tax that will apply (if applicable).

Note that in order for the correct amounts to be reported the patron price must round correctly to 2 decimal places only. I.e. 5.340 not 5.344
