What is a shift? When you Sign On you start a shift. This feature allows all sales to be allocated to the user who made the sale. At the end of each shift, the user signs off and prints a shift report which details all sales made during the shift.
If a user signs on to more than a single terminal at a time, then a unique shift will be created for each terminal.
Important note: All sales made once a shift has started will be allocated to the date of when the shift was started regardless of when the shift will actually be signed off. So if you sell items across multiple days then these items are deemed to be sold based on the start sign on date when calculating any of the Cash Flow Reports. They will however, be allocated to the correct dates when used for non-cash flow reports such as the Sales and Marketing Reports and Distributor Sales Reports.
There is one exception to this rule when selling on the candy bar terminals, if the ShowPOS monitor is shutdown when there are any open shifts. These candy bar terminals shifts will effectively have their open shifts closed for reporting purposes and a new shift will be allocated once the ShowPOS monitor is reconnected. The new shift's sign on date and time will be based on the first recognised sale received from each terminal.
Starting a Shift After selecting Box Office, Candy Bar or Management, the user will see the User Sign On screen. Type your User name and press <Enter>. You will then be asked for a Password. Type your password and press <Enter>. Your password will be displayed as **** so no one can read it. If you have forgotten either your user name or password, click [Cancel] and see your System Administrator.
If you have entered the correct user name and password and have the correct security access, you will be presented with one of three screens:
Alternative ways of users signing on and off:
Ending a shift When you press [Sign off] on the Main Menu or [Exit] from the Sessions screen when you have signed on as a user, you are presented with the Sign Off screen. Pressing [Print Shift Report] at this point will print the End of Shift Report detailing all sales made during the current shift. Pressing [Print All Shifts] will print End of Shift Report detailing all sales made during all shifts for the day. If you wish to continue the current shift then press [Cancel].
