These settings are specific to each terminal.
Protocol This is the network protocol used to talk to the server. This must be set to TCP/IP for all terminals when the multi-user version of the software is being used.
Server Name This is the TCP/IP address of the server that you will connect to. Only required when there is more than one server, or the server is being accessed remotely, otherwise it can be left blank.
Some software such as firewalls may prevent the showcase server from being detected, or in some instances the internal/external network cards are configured such that the server may not always be automatically found. This requires that the actual server computer name or TCP/IP address.
If your computer is running in a single user configuration (or your network is off-line. ie no cable plugged in) then you will need to set the Server Name to the local host IP address 127.0.0.1, this will enable the software to by-pass the windows network settings when searching for the Showcase Server.
Database This must be set to SHOWCASE for all locations.
Com Port The serial communications port used by the ShowPOS Monitor.
Automatic Start Select this option to automatically start ShowPOS Monitor whenever Showcase is started.
