Terminals allows each Candy Bar Quest terminal to be configured.
To create a new entry, press the [New] and enter the details in the appropriate fields. To change the details of an existing entry, select the item from the list and press [Edit]. Change the details and press [Save], or [Undo] to cancel any changes.
To delete a terminal, select the item from the list and press [Delete].
Terminal # Each terminal has a unique serial number assigned by the manufacturer. See under each terminal, there will be a number Mxxxxx-000 or Txxxx-000. Enter the number designated by xxxxx.
Warning: If your Terminal # is not entered, then the Terminal will not be able to be configured, BUT all sales will still be retrieved when on-line.
Department Each terminal must be assigned to department. This allows for groups of terminals to be configured the same. i.e. all the terminals in the Candy Bar will be the same, all the terminals in the Café will be the same. (see Departments and Store Rooms)
Template Each terminal must be assigned a template, these are the products that are allowed to be sold from this terminal. This allows each terminal in a department to be configured separately. Warning: If there is no template assigned, then the template previously assigned was deleted and a new template will need to be allocated. (see Templates)
Serial # Each terminal must be assigned a serial # which is assigned by customer support. If no serial # is assigned then the terminal will not be able to be updated, but sales will still be extracted as they occur.
Quest Printer Setup - Quest Port This is the com port to which a serial printer is attached directly on the Candy bar terminal. (usually COM3)
Quest Printer Setup - Baud Rate This is the baud rate for the com port to which a serial printer is attached directly on the candy bar terminal. (usually 9600)
Quest Printer Setup - Print to Remote This is Terminal # for another candy bar terminal which has a printer attached. This allows one printer to be shared between multi-candy bar terminals.
Quest Printer Setup - Remote Port This is the com port to which a serial printer is attached on the remote candy bar terminal.
Barcode Scanner Setup - Quest Port This is the com port to which a serial barcode reader is attached directly on the candy bar terminal. (usually COM2)
Barcode Scanner Setup - Baud Rate This is the baud rate for the com port to which a serial barcode reader is attached directly on the candy bar terminal. (usually 9600)
Barcode Scanner Setup - Delay This is the time in seconds the terminal will wait in between scanning multiple barcodes.
Barcode Scanner Setup - Time out This is the time in seconds the terminal will wait when scanning barcodes if an error occurs.
