If you are having trouble printing reports when signed on in windows with a Restricted Account, then we need to change the default way that windows handles security. This is caused by the user not having the rights to modify report files previously created by a non-restricted account.
Generally the Properties tab when you <right-click> on any file or folder will look similar to this (i.e. Security tab is not visible).
If the Security tab is visible then skip Step 1.
Step 1) To change the standard security settings you will need to do the following:
Try one of the following methods:
Method a)
sign on windows as an Administrator
open My Computer
select Tools
select Folder Options
select View Tab
under Advance Settings unselect Use Simple file sharing
press <Apply> and press <Ok>
Method b)
sign on windows as an Administrator
select Start
select Run
type GPEDIT.MSC and press <OK>
select Local Computer Policy
select Computer Configuration
select Windows Settings
select Security Settings
select Local Policies
select Security Options
<double-click> the policy Network Access: Sharing and security model for local accounts
change value from Guest Only - Local users authenticate as Guest to Classic -local users authenticate as themselves
press <Apply> and press <Ok>
Once the above change has been completed then the Properties tab when you <right-click> on any file or folder will look similar to this (i.e. Security tab is visible). You will now be able to allocate permissions based for files and folders for specific user groups and users.
Step 2) To change the permissions for showcase do the following:
select <C:> drive (usually)
<right-click> SHOWCASE folder
select Properties
select Security tab
select the users group or username
select the Allow option for Modify, Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read and Write permissions.
select <Ok>
This should now allow the reports to be created.
